Since 2014, we have been supporting the AVON Walk for Healthy Breasts. 20th annual event took place on September 17, 2022. The Avon Walk is the largest charity event in the Czech Republic and the second largest pink walk in the world. All proceeds from the sale of T-shirts go to the projects of the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer and the Association of Mammalogists of the Czech Republic for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This is the largest project of Women to Women. For every T-shirt sold at the walk, Avon issues one voucher that will discount a breast exam. So every T-shirt sold means one life saved. In total, 136,000 women have been screened during the project.
You know the FOD civic association, which helps abandoned, abused, or otherwise endangered children, mainly thanks to its Klokánek project. We have been supporting Klokánekfor a long time.
At the end of 2007, several employees of the Geis Group in the Czech Republic agreed among themselves to raise funds to donate to charity. This is how our employee fundraiser was created, with the aim of helping people with visual impairments. The name was given to us by Světluška, an association well-known in the Czech media. So we founded "Our Světluška". It was officially announced on 6 December 2007 in Humpolec.
Since then we have been helping visually impaired people with the acquisition of a seeing-eye dog through the civic association Vodící pes. The state support applies only to guide dogs that are in active training. The association or the disabled person must find the money themselves to buy a suitable puppy and pay for everything it needs before it is put into training. With the funds raised, we will provide the first year of life and training for the puppy, who, once trained, will work for a specific visually impaired person.
