Fleet modernisation in CEE

In the ever-growing CEE region, we are investing in the modernisation and renewal of our fleet. Three key projects - the deployment of Cityliners in Poland, the completion of a complete replacement of truck and the purchase of new trailers in the Czech Republic - reflect our drive to achieve optimal efficiency in the distribution of shipments.

Cityliners: innovation for urban logistics in Poland

With the deployment of Cityliners in Poland, we are entering a new era of transportation in Polish urban areas where traffic constraints often pose a challenge. Thanks to their compact design and the excellent manoeuvrability provided by the co-steering rear axle, the new Cityliners are superior to conventional articulated lorries in city traffic. At the same time, with up to 27 pallet spaces, they have significantly more loading volume than conventional lorries. Especially in urban environments, these are key factors for successful distribution.

The test period confirmed the advantages of Cityliners, and therefore we are expanding our fleet with another eleven Cityliners in addition to the fourteen Cityliners already in use in Poland. And more are likely to be added before the end of the year. This will allow us to distribute shipments more efficiently, flexibly and economically in the cities.

Modern trucks in the Czech Republic: a shift towards safety, sustainability and savings

This year we have completed the complete renewal of the truck fleet in the Czech Republic with the acquisition of 14 new MAN tractors. These new models replace older vehicles and bring a number of benefits in terms of safety, sustainability and efficiency.

The new trucks comply with the latest emission standards and have advanced safety features such as lane monitoring, maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front or providing information on the speed of the overtaking and overtaken vehicle.

Some of the trucks also have higher power to enable road train operation. These trailers have a towing vehicle attached behind the semi-trailer, thus increasing the usable load area of such a vehicle. The trucks also have significantly lower diesel consumption, with an average of up to 5 litres per 100 km. At the same time, their engines can be fuelled with HVO biodiesel, which has up to 90% lower CO2 emissions than conventional diesel. This shows that they not only offer economic advantages, but are also more environmentally friendly.

This year we are also continuing to modernise. We have invested in nearly 30 new trailers. We are also continuously renewing these modern trailers to meet the latest standards.
