Thanks to the expansion of export lines from the CEE region and the active cooperation with our sister company Quehenberger, in which Geis took a majority stake last year, our clients' shipments reach their recipients faster and often at a lower cost.
There have been a lot of changes in this respect in the last year. In January, a new regular service from Warsaw, Poland, to Strasbourg, France, was launched to speed up shipments between the two countries.
In May 2023, we opened new twice-weekly routes from the Czech Republic to Denmark, Sweden and Finland. This has significantly reduced transport times and also reduced transport costs to these Scandinavian countries. And not only for shipments from the Czech Republic, but also from Slovakia.
Since the summer, new lines have been running from Nitra and Trenčín to Modletice near Prague, reducing the delivery time of shipments from Slovakia to the Czech Republic. We can now offer customers delivery of shipments to the Czech Republic within 24 hours of collection from 4 regions: from Bratislava, Zvolen, Nitra and Trenčín. This innovation not only allows us to speed up delivery, but also reduces costs for the customer and strengthens our competitiveness on the market.
In June, Czech Geis also opened direct lines to the Netherlands and Belgium. The benefits of such a change are again in the acceleration and cheapening of services. The delivery time to the Netherlands is even just 2 days. These new lines are very popular and have been very much appreciated by both Czech and Slovak clients.
In November 2023, thanks to the cooperation with Quehenberger, which is now part of the Geis Group, we launched a new daily service from Bratislava to Zagreb. Quehenberger HR then takes care of distribution to the recipients on site. This cooperation significantly speeds up the transport of shipments from Slovakia and the Czech Republic to Croatia and Slovenia. Thanks to cost sharing, it is even cheaper. It takes 48-72 hours for shipments to reach the consignee in Croatia and Slovenia from the sender in Slovakia and 48-96 hours from the Czech Republic.
Since the last month of last year, a new export line to Serbia has been operating from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. It means again faster transport times and better prices for transport. However, we also ship shipments to other countries of the former Yugoslavia without any problems.
This year we would also like to open new lines from Poland, specifically from Tychy to Hungary and from Wroclaw to Austria.
These new additions strengthen our ability to quickly, reliably and efficiently meet our clients' transport needs throughout Europe.
